Italian public broadcast Rai announced that it intends to accelerate its investments in digital radio broadcasting at a recent digital radio conference entitled “La radio digitale, finalmente” (“Digital Radio, Finally”) held at the broadcaster’s headquarters in Rome on April 13.

SBS Radio 3 will broadcast world news and current affairs from the BBC World Service (previously airing on SBS Radio 4 on Digital Radio) and special events coverage.

The European Broadcasting Union’s RadioHack event, which takes place each year during the EBU Digital Radio Week, brings together hardware and software developers from various organizations, including non-EBU members, to share projects and ideas.

Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has interchanged the frequencies of its flagship radio stations in Delhi, FM Gold and Vividh Bharati.

Dick Tauber, former chairman of the World Broadcasting Unions International Satellite Operations Group (WBU-ISOG), has died in Atlanta, Georgia, after a long illness.
